I have not been able to get this quote out of my head since I heard it in class a few weeks back. I love how clearly and pointedly he stresses the significance of the historic events of the Christian faith. Either God exists, the Cross happened, and Jesus is alive or we have no reason to follow the Christian faith. There is no room for writing Christianity off as simply good moral teaching or “one way” to reach heaven.
Christianity, if false, is of no importance, and if true, of infinite importance. The only thing it cannot be is moderately important.
- C.S. Lewis in God in the Dock: Essays on Theology and Ethics

That’s good stuff.
I like this and I’m excited to look into it tomorrow morning! I love you and I’m so glad you’re my son!
Lewis’ common sense is always so refreshing.
